February Prairie Update |
BIG CHANGES AT OUR AGM THIS YEAR!!I am really excited about the NEW Annual General Meeting format we have planned! This is the once-a-year opportunity for the PCCE community to gather together (April 13 in Calgary). As in the past, we still will require 2 participants (a board representative and an educator)... BUT THINGS ARE A CHANGIN’! Our hope is that in addition to your 2 representatives mentioned above ... that school communities will also send a team of participants (both board members and educators) to learn together, to share stories of God’s good work and to encourage & be encouraged by the PCCE community. The formal meeting will still happen (we need to approve the budget, appoint new board members etc),BUT there will also be WORKSHOPS! We have an exciting slate of speakers and topics...
REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN FOR THE AGM INCLUDING WORKSHOP PREFERENCES. Click HERE to register!!! |
2019 TEACHERS' CONVENTION
Some of you have been asking about the dates for next year’s Teachers’ Convention. We will be gathering in Edmonton on October 24-25.
If you want to be able to determine this date in the future: find Thanksgiving on the calendar, and then Convention is the Thursday and Friday in the full week following Thanksgiving. |

INTERESTED IN SCHOOL LEADERSHIP/ADMINISTRATION?If you are interested in school leadership/administration, consider attending ELDI (Educational Leadership Development Institute). This an excellent one-week immersive learning experience where you will gather with others from across North America to learn and experience more about school leadership and whether it is something you want to pursue. REGISTRATION is now open. Note that this Institute is only open to members of CSI schools. Applications are due by March 15. |
For those of you who are members of the ATA, you may be interested to know that a PCCE member is running for president! Information about Rob Duiker can be found HERE.
BLACK HISTORY MONTHIn honour of Black History Month, here is a LINK to some wonderful books that aren’t about “boycotts, buses or basketball.” Administrators |
APTITUDE FOR SCHOOL LEADERSHIP?If you have someone at your community that shows an interest and aptitude for school leadership, encourage him/her to apply for the Educational Leadership Development Institute. PCCE will pay the registration cost for members. Note that this Institute is only open to members of CSI schools. Applicaiton deadline is March 15, 2019 and you can register HERE. LEADERSHIP COHORT CONFERENCEMake sure you have saved the date for our spring Leadership Cohort Conference on May 9-10, 2019. Dr. Rod Wilson will be our guest speaker. SAVE THE DATE: Business & Development ConferenceOur partner organization in BC is holding their annual Business & Development Conference on April 8-9, 2019. This conference would be beneficial to business/finance managers, promotions officers and board members. To facilitate participation, PCCE has funds set aside to subsidize/cover registration costs (depending on the number of registrants) for our members to attend. This is one way that we can maximize learning opportunities for our schools! When you register, select the “CSC Member Rate” and then let us know that you have registered so we can arrange reimbursement. Follow this LINK for more information and to register. |
