Covenant Christian School Leduc, Alberta

(Commencing – August 25, 2025)

Covenant Christian School is an alternative Christian program within the Black Gold School Division system. Covenant Christian School offers a Christ-centered education to 406 students in kindergarten through grade nine. At the heart of Covenant is the belief that God is the “Lord of All Things” and the understanding that this belief needs to impact everything that happens at Covenant: the curriculum, the delivery, the discipline procedures, and the interactions within the school population and the greater community.

Educational leaders applying for this position should have the following experience and characteristics:

  • Successful administration experience in a Christian school in divisions one, two, and three
  • An understanding and commitment to “Teaching for Transformation”
  • A proven ability to build a strong sense of community among parents, staff, and students
  • Working towards or has completed a Master’s Degree in administration/leadership or an appropriate area
  • Skilled in the Principal Quality Practice Guideline’s Seven Dimensions: Fostering Effective Leadership, Embodying Visionary Leadership, Leading a Learning Community, Providing Instructional Leadership, Developing and Facilitating Leadership, Managing School Operations and Resources, and Understanding and Responding to the Larger Societal Context
  • Willing to attend or have completed one of the following programs:
    • Start-Right Program
    • Leading for Learning
    • Educational Leadership Academy

Applications must include a cover letter, resume, and three letters of reference (including one from your pastor), and a written response to the following questions:

  1. Describe your spiritual journey and how your spiritual life impacts your work as a Christian school teacher/leader/principal.
  2. When it comes to your faith, which life lessons/experiences have had the most significant impact on you as an individual, teacher, and leader? What did you learn through them, and how would they help you further develop and improve Covenant as a Christian school?
  3. Covenant’s Core Purpose is: Flourishing Learners, Delighting in God, Inspired to Serve. Explain how this Core Purpose aligns with your philosophy of Christian Education.

Interviews will be May 20, 2025.
