Learning Commons Coordinator
Laurentian Hills Christian School is seeking a certified teacher to become our dedicated Learning Commons
Coordinator who will oversee all programming within our expanded library facility. The successful candidate
will work to develop our new space into a vibrant hub of learning and community that attracts students to
spend time, learn, and connect. This role is designed to deepen the depth of our programming and establish
the Learning Commons as a central part of our school community.
Qualifications
● Certification: Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certified or equivalent.
● Experience:
○ Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience (preferred).
○ Experience working in a school library setting.
○ Experience leading and coordinating volunteers.
● Education: Teacher Librarian Additional Qualification (AQ) Part 1 (preferred)
● Curriculum Knowledge: Understanding of and experience with the K–8 curriculum along with
experience implementing a biblical worldview into curriculum.
Duties may include teaching library classes, collaborating with and supporting teachers, leading and training
volunteers, teaching enrichment classes (reading and writing), and maintaining all library resources.
Candidates must demonstrate a desire for their faith in Jesus to guide their interactions with students and
staff as they support the vision and mission of the school.
Kindergarten Teacher

● hold experience with inquiry-based learning, Responsive Classroom practices, and restorative discipline
approaches (preferred)
● demonstrate proven collaboration skills, with flexibility, creativity, and a commitment to teamwork
● possess the Ontario teaching certificate (or equivalent)
Director of Student Support Services
Laurentian Hills Christian School is accepting applications for a leadership role within our Student Support
Services department. Consider joining our team of highly skilled and adaptable staff who support students as
they seek to engage God’s world with curiosity, creativity and confidence. This is a full-time position that requires a balance between administrative tasks, paraeducator leadership and teaching in the Student Support Services department.
The Director of Student Support Services (DoSSS) provides leadership to our Student Support Services to help LHCS reach its vision of “Educating and inspiring students to become all that God created them to be” for all students.
The successful candidate will:
● demonstrate enthusiasm and flexibility while supporting students with a diverse range of learning and
social/emotional needs.
● work collaboratively with staff and parents to support learning for all students
● demonstrate developed organizational skills to ensure consistent delivery of various programming goals
● possess strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
● provide proven leadership experience
Special Education courses and teaching experience are important to this position.
